137 goals on Hackney Marshes

The start of a ridiculous Christmas tradition?

A few years ago, my friend Ben and I decided to score a goal in every goal on Hackney Marshes' 69 football pitches. There were no nets, we missed loads, it took 2 hours, and I loved every minute. This needless endeavour seemed to capture quite a few people's imagination.

This December, we're doing it again and everyone is welcome to join who might love the idea, wanna run off the turkey, or feel a bit lonely during Christmas. All abilities and ages are welcome. Bring a football.

📍 Meeting Point
We're meeting on December 28th 2024 at 12 noon at Hackney Marshes Pavilion (not Hackney Marshes Centre). Exact meeting location: ///letter.carry.gasp. There is free parking around Mandeville Street.

Our suggested route is above but feel free to go rogue.
Complete it as an existing group, or solo.
We'll arrange optional new groups of individuals too.

This isn't an official event, or a race. There's no tickets or anything for sale (or toilets or changing rooms). It's just two guys scoring a goal in every goal on Hackney Marshes, offering anyone to join.

Last time we had a football each, so we could both complete it. We also scored in the correct direction.

There are no league games on the 28th so there should be free pitches. Last time we had to ask a family if we could quickly score in the goal they were using and it was fine (and fairly embarrassing).

Whatever the weather, we'll be there.
